Nokia fans, the company has planned something for you on February 25
NEW DELHI: HMD has already unveiled the Nokia 6 (2018) smartphone in China and it looks like it is now all set to bring the handset (or more smartphones) at the upcoming MWC 2018 conference. The Finnish company has sent out invitations to media teasing the launch for next month.
In the invitation, the company says, "...join us at the Home of Nokia phones for an intimate and exclusive unveiling of the next chapter of our story." The MWC 2018 keynote event is scheduled to take place on February 25 at 4PM CET (8.30PM IST, Sunday).
In the invitation, the company says, "...join us at the Home of Nokia phones for an intimate and exclusive unveiling of the next chapter of our story." The MWC 2018 keynote event is scheduled to take place on February 25 at 4PM CET (8.30PM IST, Sunday).
The invitation comes a day after HMD Global head Juho Sarvikas used his Twitter account and teased that the company will be making some big announcements at MWC 2018. "Sorry for radio silence," he tweeted. "Been super busy planning #MWC2018. Please expect it to be awesome," he tweeted.
Although we don't yet know what Nokia smartphones will show up at the keynote event, however, one can at least expect the global launch of Nokia 6 (2018). Some of the rumoured Nokia smartphones making rounds on the web include Nokia 1, Nokia 4 and the flagship Nokia 9. We may also see the global launch of Nokia 7, which for now is limited to China.
For what's worth, HMD recently acquired the patent for 'Asha' strongly hinting the imminent revival of the Nokia Asha smartphones. The trademark can be seen on the EUIPO website and was filed back in 2011. However, the trademark filing was transferred to HMD on January 9 this year. Nokia Asha series made a debut in the smartphone industry back in 2011 but was shuttered in 2014 as Nokia came under the 'Microsoft' umbrella.
Since the MWC 2018 is still more than a month away, we may see some more clues hitting the web in the form of leaks and rumours.
