NEW DELHI: Earlier this month Chinese smartphone maker Vivo showcased its in-display fingerprint sensor smartphone at CES 2018, in Las Vegas, US. At the time of the unveiling it was reported that Vivo X20 Plus UD will be the first smartphone to come with this feature. Now, the company has finally launched the Vivo X20 Plus UD smartphone with in-display fingerprint sensor in China. The company has not yet revealed any details about the price and availability of the smartphone.

The Vivo X20 Plus UD comes with Synaptics Clear ID 9500 in-screen fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor is placed between the mainboard and the OLED display. At the time of the launch Synaptics said that the ID FS9500 optical in-display fingerprint sensor works fine on dry, wet and cold fingers. It is also said to be scratch proof and waterproof since it is covered with a glass.


In terms of specifications, the Vivo X20 Plus UD features a 6.43-inch full HD+ display with 1080x2160 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone runs Android 7.1 Nougat operating system and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor.


The handset comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Users can further expand the storage up to 256GB by adding a microSD card. The dual SIM smartphone comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup. The Vivo X20 Plus UD sports a 16MP and 5MP modules at the rear end with LED flash. There's also a 12MP front shooter with LED flash for the selfie lovers. The smartphone is backed by a 3800mAh battery and offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options.


Recently, Vivo launched its E-store in India that will deliver products and services across the country. As part of the launch, the company also announced its "Launch Carnival" under which, it is offering benefits on smartphones from January 16-18.
