Moto E5 image leaked, reveals rear mounted fingerprint scanner.

After rumors earlier confirmed that Lenovo-backed Motorola has been working on the successor to the Moto E4, images of the Moto E5 has leaked. According to the latest image, the Moto E5 will launch in a Gold variant.

According to the image spotted by mysmartprice, Motorola is planning to move the fingerprint sensor to the back for the Moto E5. To recall, Moto E4 sports a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button up front. However, the latest leak suggests that in Moto E5, the scanner will be embedded into the Moto logo at the back, just below the rear camera. Motorola is keeping the same 16:9 aspect ratio display. The body is said to be metal, and the overall design of the smartphone looks pretty similar to the Moto E4. Considering Motorola’s E-series has always been an entry-level range, we might see a plastic body instead of metal.

In addition, the report suggests that Motorola will launch a dual-SIM variant of the Moto E5 in India. On the connectivity front, the smartphone is expected to feature GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 3.5mm headphone port. In terms of availability, the smartphone is expected to officially launch on April 3 and is said to be priced between $120-$150 (approximately, Rs 7,500 and Rs 9,500).

To recall, the Moto E4 features a 5-inch HD display. Under its hood is a MediaTek MT6737 quad-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz and paired with 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card.

There is an 8-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus and f/2.2 aperture. Up front, the smartphone houses a 5-megapixel camera with flash for selfies and video calling. The Moto E4 is fuelled by a 2,800mAh battery. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
